It's been a while. Sometime back in 2020 I guess I tried to blog but then my mac laptop died with all my adobe programs so I lost motivation to blog. I'm currently using a chromebook to start blogging again. I set a goal for myself. If I can keep this up without disappearing for long period of time, I'll buy a laptop or desktop. lolz

New Years Eve

I worked and then left to pick up some chicken and pizza for dinner. Did some osouji (new year cleaning) and went to sleep. I woke up with massive texts from friends and coworkers but then later feel back asleep. Meh.

New Years Day

I woke up early so I can go to Tokyo Central to pick up some sashimi and ingredients for shabu-shabu. I picked up a $30 beauty fukubukuro (lucky bag). Afterwards, I went to Mitsuwa to see if they had new year decorations in which I picked up another $50 fukubukuro. The reveal will be in the next post. I need to sleep now or else I'll be a zombie at the office. Goodnight.

Sachikohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06715220136371283809noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6150542743069277554.post-10547652328167513372019-07-23T23:41:00.001-07:002019-07-23T23:41:07.026-07:00NMNL July 2019Can't believe it's already mid-July. Time goes by fast when you don't want it to. I received this box end of June, took pictures then forgot about it. Ugh typical. I'm going to try and upload the other past boxes. Everything gets delayed when you live in a dark place. My next future place better have more lighting.
Face cream that brightens skins with natural ingredients such as milk protein extract, white flower complex and peach extract. Can also brighten armpits, elbows, and knees. I haven't tried this product enough consecutive days to see if it actually brightens skin. The scent has a very light "milk" scent.
The packaging for this is super cute. I received strawberry flavor. The other options were peach or cherry. This is not only a lip gloss but a lip tint so it stains even after you rub it off. It took a few hand washes to remove this swatch.
This gummy supposedly makes your lips more plump. It contains collagen, calcium, hyaluronic acid, and dietary fiber. I got yogurt flavored one. The other option was peach and I probably would've liked it better. I'm not sure if this really works.

This month's box definitely fit the summer theme. Everything tide together. You got the face cream that brightens, 2 in 1 moisturizer and UV to protect your face from sum, oil blotting paper for your sweat, lip plumper gummies, lip gloss for those plump lips, bling for your eyes, foot mask so you can show off your smooth feet with sandals, and finally a makeup pouch to hold everything.

I believe this was the first time they gave edible beauty products. I wonder if they will be adding similar products or even those popular diet powders in future boxes.

She sent me a package containing omiyage (souvenir)!

I actually requested Starbucks Japan tumbler. They release limited items once a year during the Sakura season. I'm so happy she got me one. I already ate the Kit Kats and Hawaiian chocolates lol.

I can't wait to try the beauty products and sip Hojicha Latte in my new tumbler.

Thank you again Sayuri!
Being MIA for 4yrs made me realize that I miss blogging. I can't explain the feeling. Maybe the process of documenting something gives me some sort of satisfaction in life. I started blogging way back on Xanga about my life. Well, maybe complaining about it haha. Then it moved towards a positive note of what I did that day, what I bought, etc. I'm highly disappointed in myself for not updating the past years. I should've discussed my new life in Oregon, adopting a cat, being alone. Pretty sure some other events occurred that slipped my mind which only makes it a more valid reason to blog again. It would've been great if my pictures spanning from late 2017 to early 2018 didn't get deleted from iphone update (didn't backup >_<). I'm going off on a tangent... Anyways, this blog is all over the place but at the end of the day, it's my blog. I just want to make memories about anything even if it's a boring topic.Sachikohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06715220136371283809noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6150542743069277554.post-86636053693507581892019-05-25T03:26:00.001-07:002019-05-25T03:37:28.345-07:00You know what sucksI was lying in bed and thought hmmm.. let's check the old blog that I've neglected for the past 3yrs. Well, I was upset to see that most of my pictures weren't working from Photobucket. I investigated a little bit and the code they provide as a direct link adds "~original" at the end of each photo. WTF! Why? Now, I'm wondering how long has my blog been looking jank for. Other broken picture links were hosted on a site that I deleted my account on so can't fix those. All I can do is slowly change the code and hopefully move it to google drive in the future. I do miss blogging and being on social media.
This year nmnl announced new changes to their subscription service. They redesigned their booklet, website and box. Their box is now a pretty pink color with cute illustrations on it. They will also be adding Korean beauty products since they were highly requested. I'm not familiar with Korean products but this will be something new to learn since they are known for their skincare routine and cute collabs. The price did increase to provide more and better quality products.
The key point of this product is that it creates a 3D effect by forming a protective layer on each eyelash. To me, it's very subtle effect. It doesn't make my lashes clumpy.
I had trouble taking a decent photo of this because of my crappy lighting. The back has see-through packaging and you see fruit slices in the back. I haven't used this yet but should give it a try!

Thoughts
For introducing a new box and new products, this could've been better. Instead of the makeup sponges maybe some blush or eyelashes? I did like the soymilk cleanser and shower ball. I'm hoping next months box is better.
Yes! You read the title correct. I never posted this on social media and since I still have the pictures. I'm going to upload.
NMNL is short for No Make No Life. It's a monthly subscription service delivering 5-7 products from Japan. They debuted February 2017 for $29.99 per month then 2019 they added Korean products expanding to 8-10 products for $35 per month.

*Later on this week, I'm going to move this in the correct date range.
Their booklet is pretty plain and simple. Gives a little description and direction if needed.

This set is honestly too cute to use. I don't want to ruin it. I'll most likely use it as a backdrop display.

Wayumeguri Sakura Bath Salt

I don't often use bath salts unless I'm at a hotel with a huge fancy bathtub. The tub at my place isn't the best so instead I ended up just pouring a little in the shower each day for the scent. The bath salt contains mineral oils and salts to help moisturize skin.

Gensen Labo Hydrating Sea Kelp Toner

I've been out of toner for the past month so I was excited to receive this. It uses gagome kelp from Hokkaido to help nourish and restore elasticity to the skin. It's alcohol free and unscented which is gentle for sensitive skin.

Sakura Harenohi Hand Care Gift Set

The packaging alone is so beautiful. This set comes in a sample size hand cream and hand soap. It has a more refreshing and airy fragrance compared to Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom. My only complaint is that I wish I could buy more. I finished within two days lol.

Choosy Lip Pack (Peach and Pearl)

I've used these lip packs before. These are good to use especially during the winter time.

Ichikami Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner Travel Set

This is not new to me. I actually use the same one in their normal size. Ichikami is one of the best hair care brands that I've used. It's silicone and sulfate free. This particular type is great for dyed hair. It's really moisturizing with a peach scent. People always compliment my hair and it's thank to this. For people with fine or untreated hair it might be a little too moisturizing so best to go with their other type.

Verdict
I thought they would put in more Sakura items since I know Japan likes to market Sakura season with limited items. What I loved was the Sea Kelp Toner and Sakura hand cream. Already tried Choosy and Ichikami which are good products. Since living in Oregon, I've learned to appreciate the things I took for granted. I was extremely happy to receive Japanese products or anything Asian. That kind of stuff is limited. There's only one Japanese market called Uwajimaya. Everything is overpriced and their bentos suck. I signed up for the 3 month payment plan with NMNL and I'm looking forward to the next box.
Oregon is really beautiful. Delicious food and beer. Good public transportation. No sales tax. I would best describe Portland as the modern countryside. The adjustment has been hard. Only because it doesn't offer the things I like. Only one Japanese market called Uwajimaya which is ridiculously expensive because they have no competition. Their makeup section is just sad. I have to resort to grocery shop at Trader Joes instead of Marukai or Nijiya. I have no friends here. No boyfriend (he's in LA). We talk or text every day. All I do is work. The highlights of my weekends are laundry and cleaning my apartment. Lately, I've been going to the office on the weekend to prep for the work week because I'm so bored at home which concludes to why I decided to start my blog again.

I'm using my one day off to finally update. I haven't forgotten about this blog or my followers. I've been busy with two jobs working 12-18hrs a day. Why am I working so much? Well after graduating university, I was having a hard time trying to find work. I finally got hired part-time at Tokyo Central / Don Quijote (ドン・ã‚ホーテ) as a graphic designer / cashier in May. During this time, boyfriend started complaining I wasn't making enough money which was true. It wasn't enough to support my expensive shopping habits and student loan.

Sometime in July, my co-worker brought me to this place called Oko Cafe. My co-worker went here everyday for drinks so he knew the workers and owner. Co-worker introduced me to the owner Sammi. She thought I was cute and was asking if I was looking for more work. "I'm like as a matter of fact I am." I filled out an application and she noticed I majored in Graphic Design. She said her husband was looking for help to create posters, flyers and food menu etc. I was hired on the spot. Lucky day. So from then on I've been working those crazy long hours. Once my paychecks were getting bigger, I started buying Liz Lisa every week (I know, I'm crazy). I had enough money to pay for my spending habits. One paycheck went to Liz Lisa/Ayumi Hamasaki/misc goods and the other paycheck went to food and student loans (mostly loan). I lost weight in the process. I just didn't have the time to eat anymore plus I didn't want to spend money on food. Lately my dad was being lazy with making dinner so there wouldn't be leftovers for me when I get back home at 1am which made me pissed so I went the cheap route. Survive on one onigiri a day sometimes I ate cup noodle if I had enough energy coming home from work.

Meeting Beth
We've been online friends since forever back when Xanga was the shit 12 years ago? HAHA. She came to LA with her husband and two kids. I had a blast hanging out with her over the weekend. I remember it being considered weird to have online friends. Now it's a common thing. Some of my closest friends were originally online.
The month of August was torture. I worked 8am-2:30pm then 3:30pm-3:30am for special 3 day weekend event. I felt dead everyday. I drank 5 cans of redbull to keep myself awake. Tokyo Central was going through renovation so I ended up doing construction work with the rest of the staff. I put up wallpaper, cut and laminated over 5000+ designs. Oh yeah also little janitorial work like scrubbing tile, cleaning men & womens restrooms everyday. BLEH.

September came along. I wasn't getting much graphic design work for Tokyo Central. They mainly wanted me as cashier cause we were busy with the store's soft opening. Oko still had me doing graphic design every week so I was content with them.

Before I knew it, it was already October. It was time to start looking for a new daytime job, preferably full-time in my field of study. Submitted my updated resume to companies, went to a few job interviews and FINALLY landed a full-time job. After hearing the good news, I quickly submitted my two weeks. I will mention my job on my facebook later this week. I start this thursday October 15. I'm nervous and jumping for joy at the same time.
This should've been posted earlier in July. Oh well. I haven't bought makeup in a while so decided to purchase some makeup at my local Japanese supermarket. I'll do some what of in-depth review on them separately.

Pictures taken with my iphone5s using Camera360 app
As if I didn't need any more eyelashes. I'm so behind on previous eyelash purchases.

I'm running low on eyeliner so I decided to buy Dolly Winks liquid eyeliner. I never tried this before so hope it's worth the hefty price.

I saw a customer buy two of these. She told me it's good and works so let's find out.

My eyebags have been looking crazy these days so let's glam them up haha.

Impulse purchase cause they were on sale for $4

Running low on pressed powder so bought L.A. Girl cause it was the cheapest.

I can't wait to try these out. I'm pretty impressed with myself for not buying more Dolly Wink eyelashes.Sachikohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06715220136371283809noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6150542743069277554.post-42104365371792727442015-07-20T00:56:00.002-07:002019-05-25T03:43:39.244-07:00[Review] Vassen Rainbow Eyes Brownish HazelIt's been over half a year since I bought circle lenses. I'm due for new ones. I wanted to get brown ones specifically for work so something natural-ish.
Color/Design: 3/3
My eyes appear a lot lighter with a hint of yellow giving the hazel look. It blends well with my eyes. Could pass for natural eyes.

Comfort: 3/3
There was slight discomfort putting them in for the first time. Besides that, I wore these lenses every day this week for 8hrs. No problems.

Enlargement: 3/3
Definitely can notice enlargement. Love it.

Overall: 3/3
I bought the same series in Greyish Blue (post) but those didn't give my eyes much enlargement. I wonder if my eyes changed or if the Brownish Hazel ones just give better enlargement. The design matches to how real iris's look so I recommend these for natural everyday looks such school or work for people with dark eyes.Sachikohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06715220136371283809noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6150542743069277554.post-18504342994410176082015-07-08T01:49:00.003-07:002019-05-25T03:46:52.023-07:00[Review] Charming Kiss No. 1 Glamorous Lady & No. 7 Innocent Doll

Brand: Koji
Price: $10.98 each USD / ¥900

This eyelash line is produced by Chiaki Ito who is one of the singers in a Jpanaese pop group called AAA. I never took Chiaki's image as the "kawaii anime" type so I was a little taken back seeing her in bright colorful clothing and wigs. Definitely work of a PR.

She released a solo track to coincide with the release of her cosmetic line. I kinda like this look on her. I swear I had this song on repeat as I edited this post.

The anime character in the music video is vocaloid Chika. The illustrator is unknown yet very Ai Yazawa inspired and is voiced by Chiaki Ito herself.

The latest trend is to look more natural so I guess this is considered glamorous even though this looks to me dolly. I guess I'm used to the eyelashes of 2007-2010 era where lashes were bold.

Overall 3/3 ✠✠âœ

Both lashes have a clear lash band. The lashes are lightweight and comfortable to wear for long periods of time without weighing down your eyes. The top ones blend so well with my real lashes. I could consider them as natural and appropriate to wear to work. Since it's the same company that produced Dolly Wink I have trust in the quality of their lashes. Also Charming Kiss a few dollars cheaper than Tsubasa's line. I will definitely be purchasing more from this line.

We met at a gyaru event back in 2011 then worked together for Swankiss at Anime Expo in 2014. We decided to hangout at Downtown Disney cause it's a good middle point from our locations. The weather was extremely hot that day. I didn't expect it to be 90+ degree weather. We were melting. We kept cool chatting in World of Disney store as we waited to be seated for lunch at La Brea bakery. She brought her sister, Nicole, and her sister's bf, Yuuzo (I hope I'm spelling it right) along and I brought my friend Kevin and Sho.
Our table was seated outside the restaurant. Sitting in the shade didn't help us with the humid weather lol Sho and I shared their summer special Mango BBQ pizza.

Afterwards we drove to Cha20 for drinks and dessert. We ordered Bling Bling. So yummy!
I had a wonderful time with Kelly and meeting her sister and sister's bf. Hopefully we can hang out again soon to play video games! From where I was staying, it was a 40minute train ride. I almost threw up on the train because I kept coughing so much to point I couldn't breathe. Once we got off the train and started walking around the area, the cough calmed down and I was able to enjoy the rest of the day.
I highly recommend this place as a must visit spot for video games lovers esp Capcom Fans. Who wouldn't want to eat Capcom theme food?
You can easily reserve a spot on their website. Their times are specific 11:30am, 2pm, 4:30pm, 7pm, and 9:30pm. Once you get confirmation you're good to go.

*The Capcom Bar is located in Kabukicho which is known for red-light district in Shinjuku. Once you enter this area you see host/hostess bars, restaurants, pachinko, massage parlors and other adult theme activities. The area is empty and quiet during the daytime unless you don't mind the night life cause then it can become quite crazy. We made reservations for 4:30pm. It was a good time cause we can check out Shinjuku during the morning, eat at Capcom then leave at night before it gets crazy.
The bar is small. Maybe max capacity 30 people can enter so thats why you should make reservations just in case. Also you're going to stay here for 2-3hrs. This is an entertainment bar where the waiters perform funny skits with the customers. Every time food or drinks come out, the waiter says or does something that relates to that specific video game.
It was less than a 10min walk away but my body was so tired with blisters on my feet from Tokyo Disney Sea it felt like a torture walk. HAHA. I had the time to take pictures of Denny's breakfast menu. (In 2012, Denny's had a One Piece anime menu. I regret not taking pictures >_<).
Afterwards, took the subway to Kita-Senju. Sho's grandmother passed away last year and she was buried in this area. I got to pay my respects to her. Although I only met her 4 times within the 8 year relationship span with Sho, I felt close to her. Much closer than my own grandmother from my fathers side. She thought of me as family, as did I.
Needed to make a post from my recent Japan trip.

I remember that I was feeling really sick this day. After I finished taking photos of the beautiful flowers in the front. I tripped and fell down :/ I dropped my phone and the screen cracked. Not shattered just a long crack across the top screen. It's not noticeable or anything. I don't plan on fixing it. Knowing Apple they'll release an iphone 7 next year.
After the sunset, it got extremely cold and windy. My cough was getting more intense and my feet were aching so I wanted to leave. We left the park around 8pm.

Sho took more pictures on his phone so I will update this again over the weekend adding his photos
Kashiwa is a sister city to Torrance, California. I always wanted to apply for the student exchange program in high school but my family situation is a bit weird (I blame my sister) so I knew I wouldn't be accepted. Luckily, my friend Sayuri got accepted so she was able to tell me her experience. Anyways, I thought Kashiwa would be a country suburb area like Abiko but it's totally the opposite! Tall buildings, fancy malls and with a bit of agricultural nature. Sho's mom said it's a busy city like Shinjuku, maybe better. Everything was close by Big Camera, Liz Lisa, Don Quijote, Lalaport, Aeon Mall.

5 minute walk from the train station was the mall Liz Lisa store was in. The Liz Lisa store in Kashiwa was much larger in size and not crowded with people. I felt at peace and not in a rush like at the LL Harajuku location. The store staff immediately greeted us and said complimented my Liz Lisa outfit and thanked me for being a customer. She was more thankful how I came all the way from California to shop here (o^_^o) hehe

After Liz Lisa, one of the floors in the mall had a 100yen store called Seria. My mom told me she wanted 100yen kitchen molds so those are for her.

Afterwards, we stopped at Mc Donalds to rest and get a drink. Then we headed to Don Quijote. This location was not as crowded compared to Akihabara, Asakusa, Shibuya, and Shinjuku locations that I've been to. Good thing I went here to buy some snacks and makeup. The prices are soooo cheap. I love this place.
Dropped our stuff off at home, then walked over to Kura sushi for dinner. We have Kura/Kula in California but the taste doesn't compare to the one in Japan of course.

After Akihabara, we headed to Harajuku. I wanted to shop at Liz Lisa and Sho wanted to check out Evangelion store, Stay Real, and Hot Toys. I thought we were going to stay near Takeshita street for a while so I could take more pictures of the area but err plans changed.

There was two cafes I wanted to eat/rest at Noa Cafe and Q-Pot cafe but Sho said we'll come back later. After shopping at the Liz Lisa store, we headed to Evangelion store which was around the corner. Turns out it moved to Ikebukuro, Sho was pretty disappointed cause he planned on spending most of his money there lol. Then we headed to Hot Toys & Stay Real store which was FAR away from Takeshita street. Stay Real didn't have any cool clothing collabs for Sho and the Hot Toys store didn't have anything new because he either bought or pre-ordered the items. Basically this was a really depressing day for Sho. He seemed pretty pissed off. I didn't want to bring up going back to Takeshita street to take photos so we walked around aimlessly. After the Hot Toys store, we walked over to Kiddyland. I bought lots of Sailor Moon makeup which I will make a post about later. Didn't have enough time or bad lighting to add photos.
I didn't want this too pic heavy than it already is so I'm splitting this into part 1 Akihabara. Part 2 will follow with Liz Lisa Harajuku buys.
The next day, woke up still feeling like crap. This is probably the only decent photo of me. I didn't want to take photos of myself the rest of the week. Just feeling dead.

Sho's grandparents house has a nice garden and these flowers will produce tangerines.

Walked over to Family Mart in Abiko to check out cool stuff. I love konbini's! Everyday we went to different convenient stores causes they offered various items. I think the one in Abiko had the best stuff.
I was gone May 19-26. I wanted this post up before I left but my cold wouldn't allow it lol This post is nothing really special just basically what I packed, ANA airplane, and a couple pictures arriving.

Here's what I posted on my Instagram account as I was on the road to the airport.

I brought two luggages for this trip. One empty one and the other filled with clothes and necessity items. This is the most clothes I packed for Japan. I usually just bring pjs and buy clothes there but since I didn't have a job prior to this trip, I had to make do with what I had. The weather app said Tokyo was going to be in the high 70-85 during the day and 60-70 during the night. I put some thought into clothes that would be appropriate for those temperatures. I also put some thought into the color palette so I could easily wash clothes at Sho's grandparents place.

Liz Lisa bag, Paul & Joe makeup pouch, Cecil McBee wallet (2007 trip), Koji Takako eyelashes, Melliesh eyelashes, Tokidoki pouch from Beth, pasmo (smart card), random yen coins, 1000yen leftover from previous trip and $1,309USD for this trip.

Necessity items: Clorox wipes, sanitary napkins (period was supposed to come this week), underwear, beige stockings, shower cap, hair ties, toothbrush, razor, deodorant, daily contact lens, brush and hair straightener. Inside the Liz Lisa bag, I had random accessories in there (forgot to take photo).

ANA Airline
In case anyone is wondering, the plane ticket was $761 round trip. Pretty good deal considering ANA high prices.

Rice crackers and green tea for snack

Soba for dinner. I was impressed with how delicious this airplane meal was.

Ice cream for dessert. Yum!

Pineapple pancakes for breakfast. Another yummy meal!

We arrived safely. I didn't get much sleep on the plane cause I was coughing constantly >_<

Beautiful scenery of the rice fields in Narita.

I stayed for one week in Abiko, Chiba. Chiba is a large suburb of Tokyo and Abiko is city in Chiba Prefecture. It takes 40mins-1hr (2hrs during rush hour) to get to Tokyo from Abiko on the subway. The last time I stayed in Abiko was back in 2008? I wished I took more pictures of the neighborhood. It felt like home. Very quite and filled with locals. I didn't see any tourists here.

After we unpacked our things, we headed straight to ESPA Supermarket which was a 5 min walk. I was dying to go to this place. It's like a Japanese Target lol I REALLY wished I took pictures of ESPA but I always thought I'll take pictures next time...

Sailor Moon GashaPon! I didn't exchange my US money yet so I used my left over 100 yen coins from previous trip.

I'm a sucker for school uniforms. I remember wearing U.S. navy blue uniforms but they weren't as cute as JP uniforms. I have 5 at home and still want more.

Ordered Lotteria for takeout lol

After ofuro (japanese bath), we knocked out.
I made a simple glasses tutorial here but I didn't put much effort into that one. For this look, I tried to make this "magazine quality" format. Might as well keep myself active in my major.
Great news! I lost 10lbs! My hard work in exercising everyday for 1-2hours is paying off. My boyfriend says he can't see a difference T_T haha. Actually I didn't notice anything either until I weighed myself at the gym. I still have more work to do...20 more pounds to go. ^_^/
