K-Town

Hung out with my gal friends on sunday. At first, I thought I wouldn't be able to make it because my legs were in pain from the sunburn. I decided to go because I never see these girls often. I shouldn't let a sunburn stop me from seeing them! =D
We meet up at Sakura Mall. We sang an hour of karaoke. I'm a terrible singer. Then went to K-town for dinner and dessert. I can't remember the name of the restaurant. Should have wrote it down. We got the $9.99 all-you-can-eat BBQ. The food was good but the service was terrible. We asked like 3 times for rice and ended up getting it 15mins later. I know they were busy but come on!

For dessert, we went to the soft opening of Cafe Concerto. It's a very upscale cafe in K-town. I loved the decor! Very sophisticated with Marylin Monroe & Audrey Hepburn decor. The dessert menu consisted of fruit tarts, cakes and 24 flavors of macaroons. For drinks, fancy tea and coffee.

I ordered Lychee Coconut tea. So delicious!

It was time to end back home. Took some photos before we left!
So tired from the heat and food!

Kayaking

Kevin sent me an email last week asking if me and Sho would like to go kayaking in Newport Beach. I'm not really an outdoor kinda person but I figured I needed the fresh air and exercise. It's better than being all cooped up in my room on a saturday. We were supposed to be there at 9:45am. We thought since it was a sunday, the freeway would be less crowded. Sean was in charge of the directions but he read it wrong so we ended up going to far. LOL. We arrived  bit late but at least we got there. Our tour group was way far ahead in the lake. We strapped on our life jackets, got our boat and paddled super fast to catch up with them. We were out there for 2 hours but it sure didn't feel like it. Maybe we were having too much fun. For some reason Sho wanted to ram our boat into Kevins.

As we were paddling back to shore, I'm assuming there was low tide cause our boat ended up being stuck in the middle of the lake. Sho had to step out and push our boat to side. Sho said his feet were stuck in the sand. He said it felt like quick sand. Evil sand. Back at shore, Sho told me to check out his foot cause it was hurting. The bottom of his feet were bleeding with minor cuts. I gave him some first aid. Cleaned the cuts with hydrogen peroxide and put bandages on them. Sho said he felt much better from nurse Sachiko. Aww..

We had lunch at Waiha sushi restaurant. I got the karage and shrimp tempura plate for $8.95. Oh man, I was so hungry, I practically inhaled my meal. We were trying to figure out what to do but decided to go home. After we got home, Sho and I KOed. We were pretty exhausted from the activity. I woke up from a nap with pain on my legs. WTF! I got a badass sunburn on my leg.

May MyGlam Bag

Glam Bag
"Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month."

It took forever to get on the subscriber list! I've been waiting since December. I checked the mail this morning and saw this pretty metallic pink package. I love receiving stuff in the mail (except for bills). I love opening packages. Feels like christmas.

What I got:
❤ Philosophy Love Sweet Love Spray fragrance
❤ Studio Gear Complete Color Lipstick
❤ Miss Beauty Nail Bling
❤ Myglam Concealer Brush & Defining Eyeliner Brush

Overall  4/5
The Philosophy fragrance is a sample size. I've seen this brand at Sephora but never paid much attention to it. After trying it out, I really like the fruity scent. I might buy the full size! The lipstick is a bit dark for me. I prefer neutral or pink colors. If I wasn't a crazy nail-bitter I would have loved the nail bling. Concealer and eyeliner brush came in handy. I needed new brushes anyway.

Pichi Lemon + Tralala Furoku

Every weekend, I try to organize or clean out my closet. I have a vast collection of J-magz and their furoku (free item). Need to post more items on Poupeegirl. I'll dedicate this week to old magazines & furoku items.

Pichi Lemon Jan 2011 issue

This magazine targets girls in their mid-teens. I usually don't buy this kind of mag. Then why did I buy it? Well I like the furoku. Sometimes I don't care about the mag just want the free item.

This issue's furoku came with 2 Tralala drawstring bags and an elastic hair tie. The drawstrings are made with fleece material with black & pink polka dots. Currently using the larger one as a camera case. Not sure what use I have for the small drawstring but I'll figure it out. The hair tie has a cute puff ball on it. Was planning on taking a photo of me wearing but I'm feeling kinda lazy.

Below the page cut I took some pictures of cute middle school fashion with my camera. Someday I will buy a scanner! ^^;;

Mother's Day

Today I woke up at 7am so I can play Sims 3 Pets for a few hours. Then drove to Sho's house to have lunch with his family. Had lunch at Kula restaurant. Ate sushi with coke. HAHA so American. Didn't have much of an appetite though which was weird because I love sushi.
After lunch, went to Mitsuwa to pick up a fruit tart that Sho ordered. It looked so delicious that I bought one for my family too. I honestly spent most of my day playing games with Sho at his house.
Came home around 9pm. Spent time with my mom before she went to bed. I asked her what she did today. She said she had a fun time shopping at Home Depot for gardening and lighting supplies. HAHA!

Sho's Hair

On the weekend, I dyed Sho's hair. I used Gatsby Bubble Dye Caramel Rose from Mitsuwa for $10.99. It's really easy dyeing his hair compared to mine. HAHA! I like this dye because as you apply the dye, you're supposed to scrunch the hair making it bubbly. *Do not rub in the lather cause it'll start to burn into the scalp.

Before

After

Yay! He was pretty happy with the result. Sho's hair was black before so it's nice change for his look.

Sakura Exhibition 2012

Yesterday, I went to the opening reception of Sakura Exhibition in LA with Kevin and Sho. We wanted to go early cause we didn't want to be in that part of LA at night. The gallery was smaller than we expected. The walls were covered with art from top to bottom. Over 200 artists participated in this event. This year they used Facebook to promote Japanese artists to the world. If you art interested in buying, you can purchase one $60 but they do offer a discount if you buy more than one. I already purchased a piece. I can pick it up after the closing ceremony May 26th.

Afterwards went back to our area and had dinner at Asa Ramen. Ordered Kotteri Ramen and shared gyoza and fried rice.

Avenger Tokidoki keychain

So in my previous post I talked about Tokidoki x Marvel collab. So far I've collected 13/20 characters. Tomorrow is the nation wide opening of Avengers!! My friends and I are all excited for it. Kevin bought the tickets for 10pm showing. Can't wait!!

I have some free time before my night class so I decided to make a mini Avengers pic.

Tokidoki x Marvel frenzies Keychains

Description
Marvel’s most popular characters have been re-worked by tokidoki's own Simone Legno to create a collectible assortment of 20 tokidoki x MARVEL Frenzies. All your favorite Marvel characters, from Spider-Man to Doctor Doom, Wolverine to the Mighty Thor, have been given mini tokidoki makeovers!

Past weekend, went to Downtown Disney with Kevin and Sho. They wanted to buy the whole Marvel x Tokidoki box set. Kevin would buy the boxes individually and end up getting duplicates. The box set comes with 30 boxes and there's 20 characters total. Sho and Kevin split 15 each. We had so much fun just opening the boxes. It being a blind box makes it exciting but getting 10 duplicates is no fun. Kevin completed his set while we have 13/20. Darn those duplicates.
